John: 'busted vehicle.' Busted lives...

...can result from such experiences.

I'm of the opinion that you and your bro will never 'sink into the ashes,' however.

More realistically, 'busted dreams' result from the tragedy of QCOM in the past 12 months ... we're all operating with illusional 'goals' of wealth ... that will 'cure all our ills.'

Come on, guy ... don't stay away from us ... market, perhaps but you have to invest that savings from income somehow.

If you have to work, do it. Do you (or any of us) have a choice in such circumstances?

Seven percent CDs don't quite do it for me yet, but the day I hit my goal at least 50% of my liquid assets go into them. Whatever they're paying at that time.

Not worth shaving years off my life span to want to push it all to the max.

Fondest Regards, John,

<<I haven't been hanging around much, even though I like so many of you, because the economic destruction I have encountered by the total dismantling of QCOM's market cap has made me have only a passing intellectual interest in the market at this point.>>

Hang in there John. Qcom did a number on me too....as did elon, cmgi and etc, etc....

All we can do is remember where we were before all this happened and do our best to get back there.

Funny you mentioned qcom like that as being so "stable". I was mentioning to a friend just last night that if qcom pulls a DELL, you could simply write cc's every month for a year or two, collect nice premiums, and more then likely never get called. Before you know it, you've collected more in premiums then you paid for the stock. Anyway, I was a dellhead, and I too sat on too many shares too long. I look back now and see just how much missed income there was by not covering the shares every month. With the little bit of qcom I have, I will do just that. I will continue to cover every month until....whenever. If it shoots to the moon and i lose it, so be it...my leaps will be fine.

Currently, I stand to lose maybe rnwk at 40 rmbs at 75 and ya know what, let em' go......I'll buy them back, or some other vehicle back and do it again.

Hang in and best of luck. I too, am as down as a human can possibly be, but I am trudging along day by day telling myself "things will get better "
