<<Is evolution a law that looks to the longterm, or is it a short termexpression (or hindsight retelling of)of self interest? >>

LOL.....Unfortunately not only don't I have an answer [but you knew that.....I hope ] but I don't even have a clue.

If there is a purpose behind evolution then ........then it all makes sense. At least that there is a meaning to life.

What would that meaning be ? Are humans and our vaunted intelligence somehow the crown of creation? .........I'm not so sure of that.

It appears that without the catastrophe that destroyed the empire of the dinosaurs [a chance event ? ] intelligence has no standing.

It seems the seeds of intelligence that our primate ancestors carried were no competition for the advantages of being a dinosaur.

Unless you believe that the demise of the dinosaurs is a result of divine intervention .......

Where does this leave us....??

With a God that sent an asteroid hurling toward the earth to wipe out the evil dinosaur empire? [That his system created inna first place]

Or a God that would have allowed evolution to create some sort of super [although small brained ] dinosaur as it's crowning creation?
