Trading in pre-market at $166. Could be a strong day for Ciena, company keeps on growing and forecasting they will beat fourth quarter estimates. Should be interesting.

Conference Call Highlights Three new Metro customer 22 customers in quarter 30% of revenue from international Gross margin up to 45% from 43.9 in Q2 2529 employees, up 300 from Q2 Demand very strong across the board 10G demand increasing OC-48 demand still very robust Ciena leads technology in metro CD receiving rapid market acceptance and leadership Advanced CD software demoed CD is leading the market New manufacturing capacity added In house manufacturing a plus Ownership of customer service a plus Ciena only vendo to provide a true intelligent optical networking system across the board The long haul test bed is rapidly moving ahead Q4 guidance...expect to beat consensus of 0.23 and 1.08 for year Ciena has transitioned from a tactical to a stratic parter with its customers Component shortage not much of a problem Switch port count not much of an issue with Ciena's customers Q2 inventory issue addressed Metro is 10% of sales Ciena winning on ability to deliver Ciena seeing a lot of financial incentives from other vendors Ciena does not believe in this approach CoreDirector offers real time autoprovisioning across the network Ciena and Nortel dominate Metro.
