It also provides lower volume. <G> How about none!
Seems to defy the laws of economics. High demand and no volume should mean higher prices but I guess not.

"DDR provides lower cost and latency, combined with higher bandwidth"

Really? U sure about that? I was under the impression that DDR don't provide anything, cos it don't exist - at least not in the mobo market. If u care to differ then please tell me where I can buy a computer based on a DDR system.

By the time DDR comes out (if), the system board cost will be on a par with boards featuring multiple RDRAM channels, so the bandwidth per cost of DDR will be higher.

Scumbria,

I'm considering opening up a large straddle position on RMBS September options ahead of the IDF. All public facts lead us to believe that Intel is going to cut RMBS loose any day. My gut tells me this won't be the IDF and that Intel may at least say it continues to back RMBS there.

As we all know, DRDRAM is dead and it all relies on the patent scam. Regardless of what happens at IDF, I see this thing moving BIG one way or the other after the IDF.

What are your thoughts?

chic

PS- My RMBS position that I sold Aug 70's on is going to get called away tommorrow, thank god.
