News on the AMD 760 and 760MP chipsets. According to the diagrams, the 760 is expected to be released by the end of this month. The 766 southbridge supports ATA-100 and AGP 4x, but another southbridge the 767 supports even more (what I do not know).

The 760MP will support up to 8GB of DDR PC2100 or PC2600 (kind of puts to rest that AMD EV6 does not support >4GB). The southbridge (76xMP) is connected via LDT and is similar to the 766. Additional chipsets will connect LDT to 2 slots of PCI-X (133MHz @ 64bits), to 2 slots of PCI-64/66 (66MHz @ 64 bits), or to a single Infiniband @ 6GB/sec channel. The 760MP will come out Dec 2000 but Gigabyte expects to ship motherboards Q1-2001.

This will be interesting, if the ship dates are correct.
