Dear QS: Is that a HINT??? I think they will have a split but I think they will tie the announcement into something else that will be blockbuster. Dont know what it is but surmise if the split is to be soon would tie into USPIII announcement of release, if intermediate term then into qtr. release info. If longer then into discussions related around the annual meeting. Either way, I bet it happens before 12/31. JDN

Following after-hours runup, HWP is now taking it in the shorts for their highly embarrassing earnings charade. If they hadn't announced the split along with the spin, they'd be in double digits by now. Their server business looks like a big zilch. Agreed. Mid range and high end Unix server growth looked terrible relative to Sun (even relative to IBM). I don't see it getting significantly better for them in the future. Maybe Carly will have to try something other than grandstanding. THE WATSONYOUTH
