First, blacks are about 15% of the population, if the ADL were cooking figures to gain support, they would skew the white results. Second, they hired a reputable firm to do the survey for them. Third, the total was actually higher than I recalled, but the main thing is that I am not claiming that it "inherent", and, indeed, it varies with education. Fourth, it may be that it is expressed more freely among blacks. But if so, it also likely enough that it is acted upon more freely by blacks too, lacking internal censors about such sentiments. Fifth, I cannot analyze the breakdown of the votes you allude to. I can make some general comments: in New York City, the two largest ethnic groups are blacks and Jews, each at roughly 20%. Statewide, the concentrations are far less. Nationally, blacks are roughly 15% of the population, and self- identified Jews are roughly 2% of the population, due to intermarriage. If the selection of Lieberman is going to effect the turnout of the two groups, and if it has any sort of unfavorable impact on lower income blacks, who are the most anti- semitic and unreliable voters in the first place, then the net impact will be negative. I will merely assert that such an outcome is plausible, although the overall impact on the campaign might be small.........
