RE: HP

Isn't it considered a gorilla in the printer space?

NO! They are a strong Prince in printers, or maybe a King, I have not seen the market share numbers. And, since printers is just one of their products, it is only part of their bottom line.

The fact that you considered them a Gorilla in printing leaves me to believe that you have not "RTFM'd".

It is very, very, important for your financial health that you do RTFM.

I think you would need to revisit the criteria for what constitutes a gorilla to find your answer to the above. As Lindy pointed out, it's a value chain member performing in the division of a royalty game.

I know what your saying and the same goes for orcl but they are part of the game. Yes?

Oracle is the database gorilla and does satisfy the criteria for that position. They are also progressing well in the transition of their solutions to the zero install client architecture of computing.

ak, HWP is no gorilla of printers. They are out there duking it out with Lexmark, Epson, and a host of others. They make great printers, but are just another prince among princes.

BTW, you may need to RTFM, other wise you would not have asked if HWP is "considered a gorilla in the printer space".

If a company is a gorilla then it is THE gorilla in a market. There is only room for one gorilla, by definition.
