yep...i know that even the people who do fill in the surveys don't bother about what they put in there really. they just want to get it over with, as they have more important things to do.

Bob Bronson has simply compared the number of workers at big cap firms with their revenues, to arrive at output per worker stats...he found productivity to be declining sharply, especially at the big tech behemoths.

so the govt. uses a model with flawed inputs, and then further distorts the result with hedonic adjustments. the end result is that no-one knows what's really going on. all i know is that every piece of anecdotal evidence one comes across tends to contradict the government statistics.

Les, wasn't the big uptick in the productivity numbers also a result of the re-jiggering of the GDP calculation with respect to the accounting for software purchases? Which was originally suggested by New Era Al himself.
