I am not a liberal. But i will vote for a financially sound Gore with republican congressional help before I support supply side tax cuts coming at the wrong time. A conservative wouldnt support these tax cuts at this time. Help the middle class first and then lower rates but don't cause a deficit either by excessive spending or excessive tax cuts. We just have a special situation of productivity enhancement due to the shrinking of the national debt plus as you pointed out a problem for young middle class folks paying too much in taxes to take care of, before across the board tax cuts. And 1996 did see a boom in productivity and in the markets and I suspect in your personal wealth. Prior to that slow-moderate growth with relatively high unemployment. Things aren't always simple.
