Although you point out some valid problems, the mistrust of senior leadership in uniform didn't start until the troops saw how little resistance the military leadership gave to the Clinton administration and his liberal appointees when this issue arose. You can think otherwise if you'd like, but I lived it. It was demoralizing. We always made do with the other problems you mentioned, but this issue caused many problems. We didn't join the military for the paycheck, we joined to serve our country. Now the recruiters are promising the world in college money and large bonuses for one termers. Times have changed. I hope we don't have any major conflicts in the near term or forever for that matter.knc
