BS, Newbridge Networks, now part of Alcatel, was the first company which
commercialized broadband wireless acces LMDS poit to point and
point to multipoint with fixed or dynamically allocated bandwidth between users in
late 1998/ early 1999 with multi-hundred contract with MaxLink/WIC and
number of contracts during 1999. Way before ERICY made first announcement about
LMDS product.
Before ALA/NN merger NN has already No 1 in LMDS with over 1200 based
sation shipped.
ALA/NN has now over 50% LMDS market shares.

The largest LMDS operator in Poland is division of Formus Comm. based in
Denver, Colorado and
Alcatel supplied them with equipment not only in Warsaw but for most of
Polish large cities.
