UT Austin ranks in the top 20 in engineering. Its EE probabily ranks in the top 10 now.

Yes. UT Austin, University of Houston, Texas A&M, Baylor, and others, are all good schools. But they are huge. Rice is private and well-endowed, CalTech size (700 under grads per year + 1500 graduate students), and has IMO the best science & engineering programs.

Hector Ruiz got his bachelors degree at UT Austin.
