I remembered about a year and a half ago, when Sun's market cap was about 50B and Microsoft was at about 500B, an analyst from Prudential commented that Sun could surpass MSFT in market cap in about 5 years after Sun acquired StarOffice.

At that time, I thought he was talking garbage because MSFT has a market cap 10 times of SUNW. Now, I wonder if that estimate is too conservative. As of the closing price today, MSFT's market cap is 377B, SUNW is at 190B. In other words, in merely 1.5 years, SUNW has trimmed that ratio from 10-1 to less than 2-1. At this rate, SUNW might surpass MSFT in turns of market cap in the beginning of next year. Thoughts?
