I asked about San Francisco. He said real soon.

He's lying. Not real soon. I live there and while there's activity...it ain't real soon.

However.........AT&T took over a couple of lots (you know, the kind where the Christmas tree people land with their pallets of trees) nearby and they are full of AT&T Cable Services trucks.

Thanks for making that effort. That's a good deal. The equivalent from PacBell runs about $60/month.

I know the hardware is in place, because I examined a cev with Alcatel's 1540 joint BB distribution system inside. Apparently the SLC testing wasn't sufficiently positive, because Att opted for a more conventional approach. Maybe they just ran out of time and figured that they could eventually employ the possibly better experimental gear of the "mini-node" in other areas outside of the SF Bay Area showcase.

Offering telephony will bring in far more subs than self install.
