Total agreement. If you can charge your phone batteries at night, and your phone is not designated as the emergency phone, let those minutes roll! As for checking out the phone to be sure it works, I use mine once a month to make sure it works properly and that I remember how to use it. But it doesn't take many minutes to do that; I carefully select the call, to make sure it's not going to run into a lot of $.
