Scumbria, <The only way that the double speed ALU will provide any significant performance value, is if it can synchronize with the rest of the pipeline on half cycle boundaries. The logic for synchronizing is likely rather complex. It is possible that they built this logic into the design.> Willamette, as Kap says, is rumored to have heavily used domino logic and temperature throttling circuits. As I have said much is not known about Wilamette today and there will be some surprises. Just a couple of more months..... It will be interesting to see when the full scope of details finally surface. Chuck
