Bryan, now that levy has successfully grounded you I will pose another 'not your job' question...

Since way back in the great SI crash of 2000, I have been unable to make ANY changes to my SI Portfolios.
I even went to the trouble (twice) to completely rewrite the whole pages as New Portfolios. I cannot update those either.
...and my other little'r peeve is the lack of 'spell-check' in the PM's. I need my spell check!
But the portfolio thing would be my first choice for repair.

Sure, I have these lists elsewhere, but it means I spend more and more time on other sites.
Any ideas?

Puna

That was amazing Bryan!! How did you do that! I have been trying to get someone in SI to fix that damned portfolio problem forever and I post just one simple request to you and minutes later it is working again!!!
You are amazing, simply amazing! Not a word, just action-wow!
With your gifts you will have to stay with SI!

...I'm not writing to Mike am I?

<<(in part so that I restore your confidence in my psychological stability).>>

Well I'm glad we at least got that cleared up.

Bryan, I'm writing to you because I forgot who the new person in charge is. Perhaps you should change the header to the thread to reflect his name...Anyway...

The reason I am writing is because I want you guys to be the *First* ones in the bulletin board world to accomplish this improvement. It's been mentioned before, but I really think you guys should focus on it big-time in order to set yourself apart as the best-of-the-best.

What is the improvement?? A spell checker. Not simply the one we have, but one that works similar to Word but online. When I see a red highlighted word, I want to be able to right-click and have a table of suggestions come up. Then select the proper word, and left click a replacement.

I know you guys can do it if you really put your heads together! Now go for! Make it happen, and publicize the heck out of the accomplishment when you're finished.

Best, Michael

Bryan, Someone did it! And it works great with SI!! A built in spell check, (with dictionary replacement) and thesaurus! When the words show up in red on SI, all you have to do is right click the word, then left click their name and a small box appears from their site with suggested word replacements as well as dictionary definitions.

It's a small program, takes less than 3 minutes to download, it's fast, and it's FREE!

My recommendation: get the team together and BUY THIS COMPANY!!

Bryan this isn't a SI idea but thought you might pass it along.......why can't then make a search engine search in such a way that it finds things with the most recent news or piece of information at the top of the list?
