A whitepaper from Qualcomm on HDR....it has a huge amount of information that I have never seen before.

Found this link on the MotleyFool....

qualcomm.com

Would love to hear feadback on the possibility of HDR competing with DSL/cable modems based on these numbers.

Re: ADCT's Optical Business is Significant

Bosco and justone- Apparently I was mistaken about ADCT's optical business. I just read a blurb out of one of my hard copy reports that ADCT did $150 million (out of $891 million) in optical products in the July quarter. I noticed upstream I never detailed my notes on ADCT CC for Q200 and must have just forgotten the figure. And more importantly:

"The company began shipping its 980-nm pump laser to about 6 customers, and its pump and tunable lasers are being tested by 20-25 other customers. We believe that sales of optical systems and components could approach $1 billion in fiscal 2001."

So the optical part of their business has grown a lot more than I remembered it had. Keep in mind, I never personally verifed these figures. Just pulling them out of a report. It would be interesting to see if IR would verify them. -MikeM(From Florida)

PS For those interested, if you drill back through the urls upstream, it covers a lot of my ADCT notes on this thread.
