I'll say one thing that I said several months ago when I visited this thread once before: The statement that your better off now than you were 8 years ago is a non starter. There are extremely few times that now matter when asked that question that the vast majority can't respond yes. It's called natural progression, you earn more, you may be more educated. You may have had a family, bought your 1st house. The only responsibility of the powers to be is to not ruin that opportunity for everyone to grow in their lives. It's basically a silly comparison.
