The bullion banks want gold lower, though didn't dare admit it. But body language, averted eyes, & fact deflection gives 'em away. The miners want gold higher, but are both inarticulate & fearful of demanding a free mkt lest they endanger their credit lines or look political. Miners talked about their industry instead of the absence of an honest mkt to sell their product into. Lost opp. The show was a tribute to gutlessness. Except GATA (Gold Anti-Trust Action), but they were kept on a leash by FT police- women. GATA challenged GFMS (Goldfields Mineral Svc) to a debate on the most critical issue of the day, ie, how big is the gold supply deficit? Predictably, GFMS refused, & GATA was too polite to rebuke them in public, as they perhaps should have done. Clearly, GFMS is fearful of being found out as either horrendously inept or a Trojan horse inside the golden gates. We mustn't let GFMS get away with this. Mines should threaten to withdraw support of GFMS unless they reveal their data & debate GATA on the facts. I will so recommend." (I took the liberty of bolding the part that refers to GATA.) Doug, I am flabbergasted by GATA's spinelessness: it passed up an excellent opportunity to draw GFMS out into a debate. What a big letdown!!! What a bloody disappointment!!! Looks like GATA is nothing more than a Paper Tiger!!! Surely GATA = "NATO" (No Action, Talk Only). Don't you think that GATA has lost much credibility? Given the weakness of human nature, could some GATA folks have been bribed to go slow and easy on the gold-busters and to avoid going for their jugulars? And meanwhile to continue to put on a show that they still mean business? What a joke!!! Can the abovementioned wishy-washy action of GATA inspire confidence in its supporters and obtain monetary contributions from them? Your comments, please. Maybe there's something I know nothing about.
