You fly to Seattle. Good. You've got to go up to Vancouver, BC, and if possible, take the train from Vancouver to Banff and to Jasper. If possible, get off the train on the coast, then take the various ferry boats back to Vancouver or WA State. I'll talk to hubby and come up with a better itinerary.

I don't know if the drive from Seattle to Spokane is special. We have so many mountains and lakes out here, plus a rainforest out on the coast that the beauty of it all can blow your mind, unless it's raining.

Vancouver, BC is more sophisticated than Seattle and has better restaurants plus you get a good exchange rate, but you may have to make the exchange in the States, because the last time I was in Vancouver they ripped me off because I didn't have an account with the bank. And the banks will do that so if you have to be careful.

B4 I would go back to Vancouver, I'd check the exchange rate in the states, compare it to the newspapers, and phone a couple of Canadian banks to be sure.
