it'll take off? I hope so, but why? I'm not being critical, I want to know.

INVT may have a plan, but it seems like little more than a plan:

- it'll seek money

- it'll use the money to put a hole in the ground with fiber

- it'll rent access

But that "plan" is something anybody can do -- and that phone companies (and others who are better funded, and who already have customers) already are doing.

Until INVT gets money and gets fiber in the ground and finds out if it can sell access at a profit, well... it's something more vague than "speculative".

and ZED's website STILL doesn't acknowledge that ZED is (supposedly) no longer independent.

From Raging Bull -- a beautiful post, that sums up some of the reasons INVT appears to me to be all hot air, and no money for a fantasy unexecuted business plan....

If anyone here thinks he's wrong to be skeptical, I'd like to know -- I have a few bucks in it.

******* More INVT DD*******
Read the latest PR closely!

It says the new hire will aid "in the sustained, timely execution of our business plan"

Here is the REAL HISTORY of INVT's business plan "execution"
There is nothing sustained or timely about it!

Dec 9th PR:
"We are planning to do our NASDAQ filing in the first quarter of 2000."
Reality: NAS filing didn't come until 2nd quarter of 2000... and has since been quietly withdrawn.

Jan 6th 2000 PR:
"We expect to offer service on the network by the end of 2000, with initial expansion to Europe and Asia, including China, planned for late 2001"
Reality: INVT now says "operational within the first quarter of 2002, with service on select routes during 2001"

Jan. 6, 2000 PR:
"has signed a 12-month, $30 million supply agreement"
Reality: We are almost 10 months into this 'agreement', and we now we don't even expect "limited" fiber routes until 2001. To date, there has been no futher info on this agreeement from INVT.

Feb 10th PR:
$5 Million from PP used to obtain an equity interest in Omnigon.. "This will be a mutually beneficial relationship that will speed implementation of our business plan. "
Reality: A private company called Omnigon pocketed $5M. To date, no futher news on this deal, Omnigon, nor any benefits of such a relationship has been reported.

Feb 10th PR:
"we have received several major commitments for our next round of financing, totaling $50 million in private placement funding due to be completed by April 2000."
Reality: No funding has been completed. No futher news on these "commitments" has been reported as of Sept 22.

Feb 17th PR:
More info about Omnigon: "This is the first of several transactions we hope to conclude with them this year." & "will enable us to accelerate the execution of our business plan in several areas including... acquisiton of fiber"
Reality: No such transactions have been announced this year. To date, there has been no report about any "acquisition of fiber".

Feb 22nd PR:
"NASDAQ filed by March 31" & "listing by July or August", "acquire approximately 20,000 route miles of fiber during 2000", "contract for the majority of the network during the first two quarters", "national network footprint with access to all the major cities", and the clincher: "full commercial operation by the first quarter of 2001."
Reality: This one speaks for itself.

April 26 PR:
"will commence trading in the near future on the ... Frankfurt Stock Exchange"
Reality: At least the term "near future" is relative

May 22nd PR:
More on the German exchange listing: "shares ... can be traded effective immediately"
Reality: "can be traded" does not equal "will be actively trading".

June 8 PR:
Concerning RFI for an astonishing $500,000,000 in equipment and vendor contracts, "The deadline for responses is June 21, 2000 and we will conduct formal evaluations and enter into contract discussions immediately thereafter."
Reality: June... July... and then in August, INVT finally announces completion of "initial evaluations" ... so much for "immediate" contract discussions.

August 10th PR:
more on the RFI: "The two successful companies will be announced within six weeks"
Reality: As of Sept 22st, 6 weeks later, no such announcement.

With the intense competition in the fiber optic business, who will invest in a company with this track record and this type of b.s. PR? -- I am a very upset shareholder!

p.s. If you can blame 10 months of continuous missed deadlines, on a 'market correction' more power to you.
