Oh, those Aussies! (from the WSJ):

This instinctive mocking of authority reflects, in part, Sydney's convict
origins, as well as its Irish and Cockney cheek. In this respect, Sydney
makes for a tough home crowd for an Olympic Games shadowed by
unprecedented controversy. Each time officials stumble, or new scandals
emerge, Sydneysiders are ready to pounce. One example: When officials
warned funeral directors to allow extra time ushering clients to cemeteries
during the Olympics, elderly wags began phoning talk-radio stations.
Would organizers prefer they die before the Games, or take more vitamins
and try to hang on until after the closing ceremony?
