Troy, it is not debatable that Bryan should not attempt to solve "Abe's political trilogy of impossibility." for should he founder in the effort it is highly likely civil strife would ensue. I discussed this matter with Mr. Douglas shortly before his untimely demise and can assure you he would be in accord with my views. It is important to observe however, that despite Bryan's pellucid dissertation on the subject, some have misinterpreted his candid and forthright remarks. It grieves me to say, Roger, that you failed to comprehend Bryan's syntax as an expression of exuberance and eagerness to take up the cudgel for our cause. He did not reject us. Thank you so very much Bryan. I knew we could count on you to do the right thing. Oh, by the way Bryan, where and when are all these parties you mentioned going to take place?
