I am with you there, and it's always difficult to project your own preferences on the public, and arrive at an accurate conclusion. I don't see the appeal of SUV's, and wouldn't want one, but they seem to be selling a few.

I would guess that when MP3 players can store 2 hours+ of music on one disk, at a more reasonable price, they will become mainstream. Two/three years maybe? I was very surprised to see a portable CD player the other day for $24.95, I still thought they were $100+, shows how with it I am.

Meanwhile, contrary to the opinion of a vocal minority on this thread, there is absolutely, positively, NO WAY that one will ever play a '$1 CD', or a '50 cent CD', or even a 'freebie CD' on this form-factor:
