Another hot day for Fibre sector. Corning just opened at 294. . .CIEN gapped up hard, as did Agilent on surprise earnings. . . JDSU opened strong. . .FNSR still breaking out. . .should bode well for LPTH today. . .and some of the newer wannabes. . . POCI, APAT, etc. . . ASYS not faring as well. . . as naked shorts hock their boats to keep this tiny floater down. Meanwhile. . . the Dow traded heavily to the down side right at the bell. . . giving a downward bias to the mkts. . .headfaked north. . . then ripped southward. . . and so far the Nasdaq is falling in sympathy. . . yesterday the markets moved in tandem to the upside. . . Nasdaq following Dow today. Keep and eye on that Advance/Decline line. . . this rally has been low volume. . . so if it turns, it could get very ugly very quickly. . . though I am leaning toward August playing out the December 99 scenario. . . .all the way to the point where everyone and there brother expects a rally on the FOMC meeting. . . .and instead get a massive selloff from the "late August highs". . . .three words which have rarely echoed the tall halls of Wall Street. . . but then "late December highs" was just as rare a phrase! I don't see today ending lower and am looking for more new highs to be set by days end. . . but once again. . .watch that A/D line for clues on whether we can sustain this rally through the end of the month.
