I think someone should post this link to SI Adnim (Bozo)...errr, I mean SI Admin (Bob): amishrakefight.org Wow. I'm speechless. Really. But only temporarily so. I'm glad I took a couple of weeks off. It was sorely needed for a long time. Lots of time to experience a reality other than the one in effect here. And to reflect on the nature of both realities. You know, I took this job because Silicon Investor was, to me, a place where the most brilliant minds congregate for their mutual benefit. A community were experts learned from each other and helped novices in the process. Now I see that it's something quite different in a lot of the threads. Rather than helping each other beat the rest of the market, we spend a lot of our time and effort ridiculing and berating each other. And it's somehow become "acceptable". Brad and Jeff would be so proud. I don't know when we made the change to that kind of thing being "the norm", but suspect some of the blame belongs on my shoulders. In a world (SI) populated exclusively by intelligent, savvy grown-ups, this kind of [stuff] shouldn't be happening. But it is. And calling me "SI Admin (Bozo)" with a suggestion that I be told to go f* myself is quite a good example of it. That wouldn't have happened three years ago. Now it's "okay" and shouldn't even raise an eyebrow. Incredible. But getting away from it for a while taught me something pretty valuable. Though it's my job to deal with things like this, which I feel reflect a problem with the community (and one I probably can't fix since so many don't see a problem let alone want it fixed), there's also a lot of value in just tabling such things for another day. Which this "bozo" who should go f* himself will do. Terribly happy to be back. Thanks, SI Admin (Bob)
