That was exactly how it seemed to me--he really knew what he was talking about.

The one thing he didn't seem to confront was how much higher utility bills might go because of the cost of natural gas as a generating fuel. I guess more recent turbines are more efficient than they used to be, and DUK has a lot of nuclear and coal capacity already on line. But to make electricity with gas and then sell the electricity to run heat pumps (and in really cold spells resistance heaters) is a pretty expensive kind of energy use. And as we all now see, there could be a really bad squeeze on gas supplies.
