Not historical cyclicality but a history of froth and a pretty brutal cooling period. I plan to buy a second house in about... 6 months maybe.

There is some historic cyclicality to the real estate pricing in L.A. Generally the cycles correspond to earthquakes and riots....not kidding.

We bought our first home 11 months after the 1994 earthquake...hit the lows in the market. Sold it 4 years later for a 75% gain.
