I personally recommend AMD's Athlon processor.

My main computer at work runs a AMD Athlon 700Mhz on a ASUS K7M Motherboard with 512Mg RAM. Very satisfied.

Besides, Athlon processors outperform Pentium 3's in most categories, and are cheaper. Stay away from the Duron though.

P.S. Don't waste your money on a processor clocked at over 800Mhz. Waste of money for a negligible performance increase.
