Let's see.
It is separate but NOT equal.

I see no reason why people who cannot work, and take care of themselves, should be treated the same way as those who can. It is separate and UNEQUAL. You have to earn the kind of treatment you want. So, you don't get to choose your food. You get healthy food picked out by your government. No Cokes, no Nachos- healthy veggies, soy burgers, Rice, beans (and none of that dumping of crappy butter and cheese on the poor- I think they need to learn how to eat in a healthy manner to keep them from using the healthcare system- cheaper to teach (or force) healthy living than pick up the emergency room treatment for dies related illnesses). You don't get to choose your living quarters OR your place of residence. The government moves you as it sees fit, to prevent clumping of needy people- I think masses of needy people are too hard to manage, and tend to create negative synergies- think of yourself in these programs as akin to a military recruit- only you can get out ANY time you want by becoming productive and self sufficient. Contraceptives mandatory for inclusion in the program. Attendance at parenting, life skills and education classes mandatory- if not attended then you are assigned tasks- latrine duty for example (well not latrines, but you get the idea).

People don't HAVE to come and accept the charity of Uncle Sam (and it is charity- NOT entitlements- and that TOO needs to be taught.)- if people WANT what the government has on offer, it comes with many strings attached.
