That's what I said - Dixie Democrats hated it. That was a huge division in the party. Dixiecrats all died or became Republicans. And where did all those "Anderson Republicans" go?

When Civil Rights started up in the 1950s it was a Republican, Eisenhower, who sent in federal troops to protect African-American's rights.
