Kaka: There is one basic principle in stock price---
Whatever the market bears.
Companys seemto develop a following.
Their loyal armies(stockholders), decide when is enough for them.
Apparently Dell's armies talk one thing do something else.
If most of us on this board are right, Dell will perform.
But Dell has to show those results.
CPQ & SUNW have some inherent advantages. And they both are exploiting well.
Dell still has to develop more infrastructure (which may be an oximoron for Dell).
The wise people are saying that we want to see the concreet proof of it, to give better p/e.
None of us who talk here are totally right, or totally wrong.
Read Jean's, GW's, and RD's posts. This is the true sentiment of the knowledgeable.
Show me the performance. Don't sit on the laurels. Slowing acceleration is not an indication of growing velocity.
Dell has to make some bold steps. Like buying out REDHOT. or a major partnering agreement in one of the areas they want to be strong at.
Dell is acting like a good old yankee merchant which it is, even though they are from the south.
Dell is well positioned in the 50-60 p/e ratio for now.
If Dell takes one major bold step, it can go back to the 60-75 p/e. Beyond that they really have to keep on taking initiatives and perform.
I know your frustation. But Dell is at exactly where it should be.
