DoCoMo has made this 4Q01 rollout a goal for their home market, only in selected areas.

Actually, my current understanding is that Docomo is aiming for a launch date of May '01 forW-CDMA. This launch will be limited to 3 cities....

However, W-CDMA is on a different upgrade than HDR. Currently CDMA operators in Korea are expected to upgrade to 1xrtt (144Kbps) in October and HDR during the middle of next year. I think US operators will likely lag by about 6 months minimum.
