RE:"I disagree. It's Bush who would be a disaster for the economy, the stock market, and the nation. He'd try to stimulate an already hot economy and run smack into the Fed, would decimate Social Security and anything intended to benefit the poor regardless of merit, would destroy the educational system and environment, and would reignite tensions with the Russkies."

How old are you anyway 15? 21? (OK your older) Think for a change. Haven't you seen this political rhetoric before? Happens every 4 years.
Fact is the Social Security isn't going away regardless.
The RE tax cut has already spured the economy to where Greenspan will have to hike again and again. Environmental issues will not be ignored and the Russians have too many internal problems to worry about...

ot/Tutt,
The best thing Bush could do would be to request Greenspan's resignation and appoint Lawrence Kudlow as the Fed Chief.knc

OT OT OT: It is possible that Bush's optimistic plans could actually be harmful at this point in history.

However, let me make the following points:

1) Social security needs to be abolished. It is a socialistic system where "govt knows best" mentality allows us to relinquish control over a non-insignificant amount of our earnings today in order to depend on the govt later. How can an able bodied person with enough ego defend it is beyond me. Unfortunately, the "spend what you have today and then some" generations have always bought into this idea because they are comfortable with the govt taking money away forcibly today in order to depend upon it someday. Moronic, if you ask me. However, I agree that no politican will ever say that; morons!!
2) Educational system cannot be destroyed more than it is today. I was looking at a community college cont education course brochure yesterday. It made sure that it listed total cost/credit amount for each credit for local students all the way till 30 credits per quarter (even when the cost/credit was constant beyond 6 credits) but decided to let international student know that beyond 6 credits, cost/credit was constant (and higher than the local students). However small this incident is, the college doesn't expect the locals to calculate, at least IMHO :-( This is sad. Nothing can be worse. I think that voucher system is good unless you are a public school teacher, which I don't think you are.
3) Russkies are too weak; they need capitalistic help. I doubt that anything can be done that really ignites tensions with russkies.

ALL JMHO.
