crazyoldman and TechieGuy-Alt...crazy you are correct, the date the stock begins trading on a split basis is the 22nd.

AMD ANNOUNCES 2-FOR-1 STOCK SPLIT

SUNNYVALE, CA--July 19, 2000--Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE: AMD) announced today that its board of directors has authorized a 2-for-1 stock split to be effected as a stock dividend of one share of common stock for each share of AMD common stock outstanding.

Stockholders of record on August 7, 2000, will receive one additional share of common stock for each share of AMD common stock held on that date. The payment date will be August 21, 2000. AMD expects the shares resulting from the split to be distributed by AMD's transfer agent on or about that date. Based on this schedule AMD anticipates that its outstanding common stock will begin to trade on a post-split
basis on August 22, 2000. AMD will make appropriate statements pursuant to the relevant conversion and exercise terms of AMD options, convertible notes and other instruments granting the right to acquire AMD common stock.
