Hi John Walliker; I suppose that with twisted pair telephone cable, the frequency dispersion relations are mostly from radiation. If you had a wave guide with less losses, then it should be more linear.

In order to get 10 bits in the line, you need to have a velocity dispersion of something less than what, 5%?
