Jim, re:an AMD-Transmeta alliance could be a beautiful thing I agree. I run Linux, just to keep up with it. I use the Star Office suite. The spreadsheet loads Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheets, no big deal. The floppy and CD and hard drive formats are compatible now; I share partitions between the two systems. For me it doesn't matter if I run Windows or Linux Xwindows. I realize there are too many other requirements of others, but mine are minimal. A word processor and a spreadsheet and email and a web browser. Now if we can only improve the Linux web browsers...... steve
