HP does have this technology of its risc chips already, and either does have or is developing it for IA64. The idea is JIT EPIC optimization instead of the compile once (for 20 hours) mentality. HP says that there JIT technology for IA-64 will help "differentiate" their systems from others. I wonder if HP's technology is not more than a differentiation, but a requirement. It would greatly speed up dynamic binding code, like server apps (JSP, ASP).

Here is something that might be related- I couldn't make that much sense of it though.
