Thanks Frank, it felt good to get my passion and desire for reform in public education out of my system tonight.

It simply appalls me to see so many Democrats turning a blind eye to the poor who are forced (by them) to attend lousy public schools. In your comment earlier regarding "teaching them to fish". You can't fish, if you haven't learned how to learn how to learn. Education is the key to unlocking the cycle of dependency which inflicts so many poor American families. Until we challenge the assumptions and *system* around which public education is delivered in these areas. The cycle of dependency will continue.

A quality person like Colin Powell understands this. He's demonstrating real leadership in this critical area. All we need to do is "follow" this man of awesome integrity and inspiration, as he stands next to George W and toward really helping our disadvantaged children.

What I heard at the Democratic convention from the delegates and Al Gore abhorred me. Throwing money at a broken system is not going to help those kids. And the sad thing is Al Gore knows this. That's why his children attended a private school, when the District of Columbia had one of the highest per capita expenditures per child.

Why does he deny poor parents who by polls overwhelmingly support *CHOICE* in education? The blatant hypocrisy astounds me, as it should any American willing to care and examine the issue objectively.
