There is a book series called, The Berenstein Bears. Our kids use to enjoy them. One of them was titled something like, A Bad Case of The Gimmies. It was about how easily 'young 'uns' can get too focused on immediate gratification and a belief that all exists solely for them...the me generation. Point: Life is hard work and for-giving, not for-getting, that's where real tangible joy is found and the true spoils are heaped upon you as a by-product of your effort.

You are absolutely correct, Grace. The author speaks only about 'unlocking shareholder value'. In their estimation T is best served by becoming much less then they are and strive to be. "Mr. Armstrong, give it up, you can't make it work, Mr. Market has spoken."

The meat of it, as you know, was that the cable BB aspect is viewed as the coming event...even by young 'uns with a bad case of the gimmies. <g>

As an aside, I'll suggest that there is a possibility that wireless may get a black-eye due to the brain cancer scare. A study in Sweden seems to suggest there is a link between cell phone usage and ca. Should this be the case growth may slow a bit [though look how many smoke], then T selling their division at a high, may in retrospect look like a smart move. For the bulk time of personal use, an ears-free unit similar to the old walkie-talkie may prove prudent until the jury is in. Even the wire to the ear transmits strong signal. Lets hope not, but keep informed. A friend of mine, is the head physician for GM Saturn and he has concerns as well.
