Jeb Bush's office has a religious message for reporters:

A member of Gov. Jeb Bush's press office hit the wrong button when she attempted to send a revised schedule Wednesday to scores of Florida journalists.

The staffer, Leslie Steele, instead sent a religious message she had earlier received from her mother: ``This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the Antichrist.''

I claim that the Clinton Administration, far from being a moderate administration, was extremist, contemptuous of self- government, and not terribly democratic.

I wouldn't disagree, but I see no reason to suspect that a Bush administration - or a Gore administration - will be any improvement.

Geez, Neo, what is it with you guys? Are you trying to infect all of SI with the aggrieved-Republican meme-complex?
<g>

As for "moderate," "conservative," "liberal," "extremist," etc., etc., in my opinion they have become nothing more than buzz-words, and it is not worth even trying to define them, except as they have been used in specific historical (and geographic) contexts. And I see little use in sticking them as labels on anyone in the present.
