I don't know that mind and brain or synonymous. It might be more like mind and everything. Certainly, evidence from phantom limbs, and from organ transplants seem to indicate that consciouness exists throughout the body. After all, the brain runs throughout the body on electrical wires doesn't it? And doesn't consciousness soar everywhere?

Well, I was just being cute. No matter how complex we see the universe or its parts...in the end, complexity is undoubtedly the ultimate in simplicity, just like the mathematical simplicity that makes your computer so incredibly complex--the recognition of on/off.
