<The best "fit" into the available environment...>

I think this is what I am asking. We seem to assume that we are the best fit. The most successful of all, the pinnacle. I am not sure of that.

If I strip away our own bias, I can think of many things that could be considered better fit, more successful. To make my point if not all ready I will use the 'God' word. Why do we feel we are God's chosen ones. Why do we think when he looks down upon us he says, "This is my best work to date."

You can replace God with Solon's word the 'Law' and the question is still the same. What is the criteria?

What criteria is the true criteria and do we fit the best?

Perhaps we should be asking 'What is the true measure of success from the evolutionary point of view?'After all if there is a creator evolution is a tool reflecting said creators desire,no?

I've made my views clear on this in previous posts: I don't believe an ultimate creator can exist, apart from creation. Many disagree. I believe that existence (of everything) shows evidence of sentience, Law, and unity. This God, who actually is all that is does not resemble the major Gods of western religion that has to travel to and fro to see what is going on. This God resembles me, and you, and cows, and water...
