Brian, >"Street.com cuts jobs, closes division"

TheStreet.com Inc., an Internet financial news service, said Friday it will close its analyst-ranking division and lay off five employees, or about 2 percent of its workforce. The company wouldn't say whether any more job cuts are possible. The cuts come 10 days after TheStreet.com received a $7.5 million investment from Go2Net Inc. and Vulcan Ventures Inc., the company that invests for billionaire Microsoft Corp. co-founder Paul Allen. The shares of TheStreet.com fell 3 cents to $7.34 in Nasdaq stock market trading. They've fallen 61 percent since they were first offered to the public in May 1999
