OK so there is sever shortage of everything everywhere in the semi-world. But where is the growth going to come from? If the chip makers are maxed out, then their only choice is going to be buying more equipment which means not only they are not going to grow in the near future, they will be making less money due to higher capital expense. In the short term that is good for the semi-cap guys, until someone decides that there will be too much capacity coming on line (the exact date will be subject of much debate).

But if I am not mistaken, even the capital equipment makers are experiencing component shortages. Does anyone know how much production capacity AMAT, KLAC, NVLS and the like have? It seems to me that the one with most spare capacity may be the biggest winner in the next few months.
