Hi SIBob, Must be that you're watching "The History Channel" combined with SpeedVision! Yes, that FF2000 race was in June.

ABC is here filming the CART race, so watch for it on national TV. I imagine SpeedVision will pick up the other races.

Best regards, Tom

The understatement of the auction was pretty funny. After dealing with the crowds at the front of the room on Friday night we decieded to hang in the back on Saturday. A colleague was eyeballing one of the cars the night before and an unscrupulous type, who shall go unnamed, tried to "incentivize" the mechanic my friend uses on his cars to get my friend to buy it.

It was made clear on Friday that was considered not fair dinkum and so by hanging in the back out of sight, when the lot came up, there was certainly one less interested party.

Well, when lot 454 came up (a very Chevy #) there was one phone bidder and someone up front who went a few rounds. My friend then put his fingers in his mouth and whistled so loud that the room of 500+ people went silent.

After two go arounds, my friend bought the car. A round of applause followed. We then went to the room in the back where you settle up. The lacky asked what car was bought. My friend responded: "The blue Ford." The auction dude gave a disdainful and puzzled look as rarries and porsches were getting done left and right and so the look was: "What, you have the gaul to ask me to do the paperwork on a lowly Ford?"

Not knowing the car, the guy asks my friend for the lot number and he responded: "454"

The auction guy picks up the file opens it and says: "oh that Ford!" The dude bought Carroll Shelby's personal Daytona, one of 6 made for a fricken $4 million. That took the arrogant look right off the auction lacky's face, LOL.
