Do we all have a sufficient substratum in our brains to calculate mathematical complexities without the need to spend years learning about mathematics??
No, many people never get a grasp on math no matter how much they study, other people are tone deaf. There is a lot of variation around what would be considered normal intelligence. Brains, and personalities are as different as fingerprints, or at least as different as other physical features (Identical twins usually have similar IQ and personality although, as always, there are exceptions).

The last great leap in human evolution seemed to come with changes to the larynx which permit more precise sounds and therefore better speech. It is likely that skills used for observation and communication have proven to be flexible enough to learn modern roles.
