Tax Freedom Day 2000 is the latest ever.

Tax Freedom Day is the name given by the Tax Foundation to the that marks when Americans have earned enough to pay for government. This year the day fell on May 3rd, which is 2 weeks later than it was eight years ago in 1992 when Clinton took office when it fell on April 20, 1992.

This makes me feel sick. I am supporting Bush for President and will again contribute to House and Senate Republican races even though I am not a Republican. If the American people had to write a check out for their tax burden instead of having it removed from their pay check each week we would have a tax revolution in this country. Can you imagine the revolt if every American had to write out a check at the end of the year for 15%,25%, or more than 30% of their earnings to the IRS? People are accustomed to having taxes removed from their pay checks and do not notice the ever increasing incremental increases that continue to be imposed upon us.

I for one am fed up working half of the year(and I work long and hard 6 days a week) for Government programs of which none benefit my family with the exception of military protection.

The reality is that government continues to grow and will most likely continue to grow even if Bush is elected. What will it take to actually reduce the size and scope of the federal government? I am fed up with taxes.
